Martin Negin
Profile
I build and run B2B integrations for a living and I am moving that work into software development. At Verkkokauppa.com I lead procurement integration projects: cXML and OCI punchout, EDI order and invoice flows, Peppol and UBL messaging, and the supplier portals that sit around them. The job is equal parts XML mapping, API debugging and talking to the people on the other end of the connection.
Alongside that I am completing a Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology with a Software Development specialisation at Oulu University of Applied Sciences. Coursework covers Node.js and React on the web side, Kotlin and React Native on mobile, and C++ for object-oriented and embedded work.
I write software with AI assistance and work in an agile way: small increments, early feedback, and working software ahead of documentation. LLM tooling is part of my normal loop for writing, refactoring and reviewing code, and I read and test what comes out of it rather than taking it on trust. AI also shows up on the delivery side of my job: SSH Communications Security's chat assistant for ordering work equipment runs against an API I specified and consulted on.
Ten years in commerce and procurement have made me comfortable across a wide range of systems, from Coupa and SAP Ariba to Linux servers, Cloudflare and Home Assistant. The more useful skill has been getting up to speed on an unfamiliar one quickly. I am looking for a junior fullstack role where that breadth, integration experience and a habit of automating the tedious parts are useful from day one.

Selected projects
A SaaS EDI operator I am building: it receives business documents, converts them between formats and delivers them in whatever format each trading partner expects. The idea comes straight from the day job, where most integration effort goes into reconciling the same document expressed five different ways. Built as a React and Vite single-page application on a hardened, Cloudflare-fronted deployment.
This site. A server-rendered Node.js and Express application that pulls live data from the GitHub API, caches it, and renders it through EJS. I wrote it, I host it and I maintain the machine it runs on. Development is AI-assisted end to end, from feature drafts to refactoring.
A shell tool for keeping many GitHub repositories in sync at once. Repositories, branches and target directories are declared in a repos.json file, so adding a new repository to the rotation is a config change rather than a code change.
Firmware for ESP32 boards that report sensor readings into a self-hosted Home Assistant instance. Part of a wider home automation setup that also includes an ESPHome component for an IVT Rego1000 heat pump controller.
A small Electron desktop application that reads a Home Assistant entity over its REST API and keeps the current temperature visible on the desktop. Built to stay out of the way: no window chrome, minimal footprint.
